ALI TOWAR SPEAKS TO QAD STUDENTS IN THE OCCASION OF INTERNATIONAL OZONE DAY
QAD welcomed Mr. Ali Towar, the celebrity Qatari biker, travel blogger and TV presenter to the school, as part of our recognition of International Ozone Day. He cycled to the school from the Qatar Foundation HQ building and was accompanied by a number of QF employees on their bikes and scooters. Ali spoke engagingly to a large group of Grade 10 students and answered their questions. His focus was upon the danger to our planet that comes from the reduction of the Ozone layer; the impact that climate change has had upon Antarctica, a phenomenon which he had personally witnessed and the importance of taking physical exercise – and riding bikes in particular. He also reminded the students that we can all make a contribution to reducing the future damage to the Ozone layer.
Ali then led the HQ staff and QAD director Mr. Stephen Meek to the Tram that is the first battery powered tram system anywhere in the world and is an innovative first for the Qatar Foundation .
